Earthwise PWO1750 1,750 PSI 1.6 Gallons Pressure Washer Reiview
If you need a washer for those small tasks around the home such as cleaning your deck, washing the car and sprucing up your drive – for any general washing task around the home you will find the electric Earthwise PWO1750 power washer more than capable of delivering great results. In addition, the Earthwise PWO1750 model features a built-in detergent tank. You simply switch on a knob to add car wash or concrete cleaner. If you do lots of cleaning, youll love this feature. Electric power washers require less maintenance than gas-powered models. Electric models are quieter than gas-powered washers. They need less space and no special preparation when put in storage for both short and long periods. If the need arises, electric power washers can be used indoors as they don’t produce toxic fumes like gas models.
This Earthwise PWO1750 pressure washer works pretty well. It is an electric, so one should not expect the same performance as a gas-powered one – that being said, it adequate for most tasks. It does draw quite a bit of current, frequently tripping the breaker on a relatively lightly loaded 15 amp circuit. I know most of these appliances are recommended for use on a dedicated breaker, but they also recommend that you not use extension cords. Not everyone has dedicated circuits all over their homes, and the cord isn’t THAT long, so I ended up using a very heavy extension cord from a dedicated circuit with good result.
A prior reviewer criticized the hose coupling. Admittedly it’s not the best, but it does work. There are two levels of locking, and you need to push it to the second click, which is quite snug. It is easier to do this if you attach this connection before you turn on the hose.
When I first try to using this washer, the high/low pressure adjustment at the tip was difficult to adjust to high pressure, but this quickly loosened up.
I think this unit is the best suite for light to moderate home owner user. The wheels don’t handle terrain well, and I don’t get the sense that this is meant for rugged use.
Despite these few issues, I was quickly able to get things working, and have been using this to prepare my fences for treating, cleaning the grill for the season, and blasting the algae stains off the patio (it is wet during Seattle winters!) It does a fine job for the price, and I’m happy to avoid the noise and maintenance of a gas engine. It doesn’t take up much room, and it does what I need it to do.
